OUR JOURNEY
We recognised the need for a comprehensive, cohesive sustainability strategy. A dedicated Sustainability Committee was formed, and together we identified three core pillars: Social, Environmental, and Governance.
The first step in developing the strategy involved mapping sustainability issues across our business activities within the scope of the strategy. These issues were prioritised to formulate objectives, targets, KPIs, and a clear action plan.
Through this process, we identified three spheres of sustainability where we can make the greatest impact and aligned them with 10 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). ​
Our Environment

With two manufacturing sites, we acknowledge the significant carbon footprint our operations generate. We are committed to reducing this footprint, supporting the transition to clean energy solutions, and continuing our journey toward a lower-impact future.​

We work with numerous suppliers worldwide. As a responsible manufacturer, we take ownership of the sustainability of our supply chain and are exploring ways our businesses can positively impact local communities.​

SCIENCE BASED TARGETS INITIATIVE
We have committed to a net zero target companywide using SBTi as an accreditation body to verify our carbon strategy and carbon reduction plan.

We have committed to a 42% reduction of our scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030. Our long-term ambition is to reduce by 95% by 2050.
CC&D submits data annually to the Climate Disclosure Project to give us more guidance and tracking specifically related to our climate progress.
2024 saw a change in how we submit our data to the Climate Disclosure Project (CDP) with the launch of a new questionnaire specifically designed for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).
In 2024 more than 12,500 companies disclosed through the SME questionnaire with CC&D being one of the 1,641 UK companies that disclosed their data. However, due to the introduction of this new SME route, in the first year of this questionnaire the maximum score a SME business can achieve is a B grade, due to CDP calibrating its approach for SMEs and requiring more data before defining a leadership category for them which is an A grade.

CC&D were delighted to announce that this year we achieve a B grade for our CDP disclosure therefore earning the maximum score possible for an SME business. Hopefully in 2025 we can begin to progress to A grades in certain areas.

Ecovadis:
We are dedicated to achieving our sustainability goals using the EcoVadis rating system to monitor progress. In 2024 we were awarded a Silver medal, placing us in the top 15% of companies assessed by EcoVadis.
